There is no secret formula, it´s about you

| 01. Natural | 02. Personal | 03. Emotional | 04. Experimental |

 Turn off the lights!

Imagine the perfect ceremony, with the perfect dress, obviously with the perfect partner in crime. You prepared everything with tons of love to have you perfect wedding, but then the sun goes, or worst the sun is burning your eyes, and almost all your guests have their eyes closed, me as a photographer can’t do a lot to open their eyes… but the thing that I can do for you is to give you some advices to have the perfect lights, all this to have THE PERFECT LIGHT TO YOUR PICTURES, and no more closed eyes or funny faces in the most important moments of your wedding.

Now, remember that this are just advices from me as a photographer.

Every wedding is different, even when it’s in the same place that your brother and best friend chooses three years before. Everything depends with the colors, the set up, but the most important thing it’s the hour and the minute to minute that you planed for that day.

During the day we have the worst and the best hours, the worts because the light it’s very hard   are from 1-3 pm. The best are from… the rest of the day… but wait! I’m not saying that we shouldn’t do anything during the worst hours, keep reading please, I’m going to separate in some parts the day.

  • Getting Ready

Well, this part turns very emotional, because maybe you will be surrounded by your closest friends or family. It’s the moment when you prepare yourself to put your amazing wedding dress or suit… but, the room, has the smallest window, or just a tiny lamp, can you imagine the pictures?

The best thing for this part, and the makeup artist should also be thankful, it’s to have a lot of natural lights, like big windows, no walls over walls that cut the light. It doesn’t matter the hour, because we are inside, but with natural light that provides windows. Your photographs will look amazing, even if it’s not very early in the morning.

  • Family Portraits

Well, this part turns very emotional, because maybe you will be surrounded by your closest friends or family. It’s the moment when you prepare yourself to put your amazing wedding dress or suit… but, the room, has the smallest window, or just a tiny lamp, can you imagine the pictures?

  • In The Ceremony

You chooses the perfect place to say “I DO”, beautiful flowers, maybe a friend of your it’s going to be the wedding officiant, it will be the most important moment during your big day.

Almost all the ceremonies are indoors, which is perfect during the day light, because that gives a very natural light, nobody is covering their faces with their hands, nobody is making funny faces. If it’s outdoor, try to go to the venue at the hour that it’s going to be your ceremony, you can see the real light at that moment, and how will yours look in your wedding.

If it’s outdoor… please choose some props that make the light soften in the hard hours, like umbrellas or a ceiling made of fabrics or palms, your guests will be thankful for that, and your photographer too.

  • At The Party

The dj or the band sometimes bring their own lights, this will be a PARTY! But you have to think in this, some artificial lights are hard to work with, the lasers damage the camera lens, so please please ask to your dj to not put lasers. The colorful lights are ok, brings some very good environment to the party. This advice works at day or night.

When your party starts at night, maybe I’m going to use artificial lights, like flashes or a lamp, if you want some warm light, like industrial balls are going to help me a lot with the pictures. If are not available, please ask your dj to put white light during your first dance, and important dances with the family. Then… party like a rockstar!!
